Charity Spotlight – Walton County Habitat for Humanity

“We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give.” – Winston S. Churchill. We at GPL Landscaping believe in this philanthropic quote and believe that the community is only as strong as its members who are willing to serve. We love our home, Walton County, and strive to improve it by working with wonderful organizations such as Walton County Habitat for Humanity. We are proud to be an ongoing sponsor with the Walton County Habitat for humanity as our contributions with their organization enables us to give back to families in the community who need our support.

What We Do to Help Walton County Habitat for Humanity

As a residential and commercial landscaping installation and maintenance company, we find it’s best to give back in a way that allows us to use our strengths and resources to enhance the amazing work of local charities.

As a construction partner, we have provided sod for the Walton County homes for over eight years. In 2017, we will assist in establishing five new homes with the charity. In addition to supplying the beautiful new lawns for families to play, to grow together, and to bond on, we find other ways we can help. For example, we were happy to lend some manpower to remove flooring after the Destin Charity Wine Auction.

We also regularly assemble golf teams to participate in fundraising golf tournaments for Walton County Habitat for Humanity. Our teams have actually been known to bring home a trophy or two following these events; though, the real reward is in our ability to donate our time, sod, and energy for a community-building cause we truly believe in and can meaningfully contribute to.

Why We Love Working with Walton County Habitat for Humanity

Aside from the wonderful work they do, one reason we love contributing to this organization is because it’s a people-first group. The organization’s Executive Director, Teresa Imdieke’s enthusiasm and passion for the charity is contagious and radiates throughout all of Walton County Habitat for Humanity’s endeavors.

The organization not only builds homes for Walton County families dwelling in substandard housing, but they also bring people together to work together to help others in need. We at GPL have met many wonderful people through the organization.
